Sapna Khandelwal has been in the jewellery trade for the past 20 years. Diamonds and diamond jewellery is in her blood. Her maternal family owns the Amrit group of companies that cuts and polishes diamonds and exports jewellery across Europe. In 2008, Sapna co-founded Bond Street Jeweller, an eminent jewellery firm after wholesale of diamonds and diamond jewellery to jewellers across Delhi for more than a decade.
At her Khan Market store, she realised that her client’s existing jewellery just sat in the lockers unworn as they felt it was outdated and redundant, making them want to exchange or melt their old gold/diamond pieces. In 2012, to help save her clients from jewellery melting losses while retaining the sentimental heirloom value of their old jewellery made her start RE-DO JEWELLERY service to create contemporary and wearable new pieces of exquisite jewellery from their old ones. Her team of skilled craftsmen help execute the designs into a beautiful reality.
Sapna, from her home studio now works on refurbishing old pieces of traditional vintage jewellery too. “I see clients come with these ancient pieces of family heirloom. Pieces of jewellery that are so rare nowadays, yet they want it melted and turned into something less chunky, modern and heavy!!. This results in great loss of our ancient Indian art, craft and tradition. Our craftsmen being one of the most skilled in the world, people have been flocking to India for gems and jewellery for centuries. We Indians do not value what we already have”.
Her knowledge, skill and experience of being in the jewellery industry for more than 2 decades makes her an ideal Jewellery Architect to guide her clients. She helps her clients to look at their own jewellery in a new light. This is her way of ‘Giving back’ to the community.

J.P. Khandelwal’s only daughter, Sapna Khandelwal, started whole sale of diamonds and diamond jewellery to jewellers across New Delhi in 1998. Along with her father, she co-founded Bond Street Jeweller, an eminent jewellery firm at Khan Market in 2008.
In 2010 Sapna decided to use her wealth of knowledge and expertise in the jewellery industry and started her own RE-DO JEWELLERY studio to refurbish her client’s old gold/polka/diamond jewellery without melting the same. The studio now offers Jewellery Consultations, Supervised Solitaire Setting, all kinds of repairs and patua services
While working on a client’s dadi’s vintage gift to herself – ‘a Nath’, we designed an entire necklace around it. The client said, “ I was very close to my dadi and now I can feel her love around me, whenever I wear the necklace”.
From a client’s vintage kamarband we designed and executed an exquisite wearable necklace without melting or breaking it. Appreciating it, she was very thankful as the kamarband had not been worn for at least 4-5 generations.
A client had tears of joy in her eyes, when she saw the refurbished necklace set belonging to her dadi’s nani. She said, “This set has been lying in the lockers for 5 generations. No one has ever worn it!!”. We turned her original vintage set into an exquisite pc of contemporary wearable jewellery without melting it thus retaining her sentimental value of it.
